A visit to the Grange mill is both a technical and sensory experience. As you approach the building, the first thing you hear is the murmur of the water running through the millstream and the play of reflections on the wheel. Inside, the eye is immediately struck by the coherence of a mechanical whole that has stayed together: no part seems to have been ripped off, no level has been stripped. For lovers of industrial and hydraulic heritage, this is an absolute rarity on a regional scale. The natural setting further enhances the charm of the site.
