The façade of Saint-Nicolas church is the centrepiece of the building and the primary reason for its listing. This layout, directly inspired by the Gesù church in Rome and disseminated in France by the architects of the Society of Jesus during the 17th century, gives the whole a dynamic verticality and formal elegance that are remarkable for a rural church. The local limestone, probably quarried in the Chartres basin, gives the façade a golden hue that comes to life in the changing light. The layout of the building follows the classic tradition of post-Tridentine religious architecture: a single nave or nave with slightly enlarged side aisles, extended by a slightly raised chancel, the whole covered by barrel vaults with lunettes punctuated by double slats. The interior, sober and luminous, is structured by paired pilasters that punctuate the bays and bear a continuous cornice.
