Listed as a Monument Historique since 1926, it is a perfect illustration of the way in which the Middle Ages shaped the rural religious landscape of the Dordogne, layer after layer, century after century. What immediately strikes the discerning visitor is the contrast between the austerity of the western façade and the rich narrative it contains. The semicircular portal, the last vestige of the original Romanesque building, imposes its presence with pure elegance.
